I answered your question in my previous post. My basic argument is that a recruit's ranking is determined by the number of high-profile programs that offer them. That's why I'm saying that a causal relationship exists between the success of the programs making offers and the recruits receiving those offers. Most analysts will bump a kid's rating when top-ten teams offer them.

The article below shows that the top ten recruiting classes of 2016 were re-ranked after three years and only five remained in the top ten.

The recruiting rankings are inaccurate when there is an attrition rate of 40% or more. Some eighteen-year-old kids peak in high school and others continue to develop. Dennis Rodman and Scott Pippen are two examples of guys who had HUGE growth spurts after hs graduation.
